Pittsburgh reached it’s highest ranking
among American cities in 1910 when it ranked 8th. It slipped to 9th
in the 20’s and 10th in the 30’s and 40’s. In 1934 after several
Republican mayors Pittsburgh began a run of Democrats that has lasted until the
present. Under their most coveted Mayor, David Lawrence in 1950 we boasted over
676,000 citizens. Now under the thumb of our 13th in a row Democrat
Mayor and city government with just over 300,000 residents we come in at a
commanding 63rd ranking of cities in America. But we do have bike
lanes. Keep voting Democrat my friends.
