The three sub-dials on the upper half of the dial evoke the instrument panel of a plane cockpit. The ability to display Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), the global time standard used in aviation is just one of many possibilities opened up by the Caliber U830, the new movement custom-made for the SKY Series.

The thick, lume-coated analogue hands provide excellent visibility even in the dark, while the high-definition LCD enables speedy switching between displays with no need to pause the hands. Analogue technology handles basic timekeeping, while digital technology adds a multiplicity of functions on top. From the fusion of the two technologies comes a new user experience.

The Memory in Pixel (MIP) display is this model’s most distinctive feature. Operating the various functions—which include a calendar, World Time, a chronograph, a countdown timer and an alarm—is simple and intuitive. The highly visible and versatile display is equipped with an LED backlight for low-light conditions.

The meticulously crafted indexes and aviation slide rule emblematic of the SKY Series have a glossy finish for a smart, stylish look. Despite the sheer number of functions packed into the airframe-inspired case, its width is a user-friendly 43mm.

Three colour options are available: elegant and dynamic blue (JV2000-51L); handsome, glossy black (JV2005-58E); and cool, cerebral grey (JV2006-55H).
