CITIZEN Watch is launching a new model from the CITIZEN ATTESA collection equipped with the latest technologies. This new model is a limited-edition Eco-Drive radio-controlled watch*1 featuring an eye-catching full sapphire glass.

The AT8314-53L features a distinctive sapphire glass that covers the surface from the dial to the bezel area, giving the watch a unique gleam and a soft glow. This model shares the same styling of popular models in the ATTESA lineup combined with a structural color dial*2 that creates beautiful blue tones and shimmering effects when light hits the dial. The shifting colors and hues on the dial and the glittering sapphire glass evoke the brilliant light, turbulence, and burst of energy that accompanied the creation of the cosmos.
The unique sapphire glass, beautifully cut at the edges, was made possible thanks to a glass structure that covers the surface of the watch from the dial to the bezel area. This configuration allows the use of structural color on the bezel area as well as the dial, creating a shimmering effect that changes mood depending on the intensity and angle of the light, revealing an incredible range of blue hues.
This model is an Eco-Drive Radio-Controlled watch equipped with Direct Flight*3 which allows easy adjustment of the time and date in 26 time zones with just a twist of the crown. The watch automatically receives time signals in four regions around the world (Japan, China, USA, Europe).

- *1 Eco-Drive is CITIZEN’s proprietary technology that powers watches using any natural or artificial light source, eliminating the need to replace batteries. Certified as an Eco Mark product for the first time in the watch industry. Radio-controlled watches receive signals from radio transmitters to correct the time and calendar automatically.
- *2 Structural colour dial: A dial printed with pigment-free ink that produces colours by using light reflecting off the surface of the microstructures in the the ink layer.
- *3 Direct Flight is a world time function that allows for time zone selection. It enables for easy operation using only the crown to display the time and calendar for locations around the world.
- *4 Super Titanium™ is CITIZEN’s proprietary technology to treat solid titanium with surface hardening technology. It is at least 5 times harder than stainless steel, resistant to scratches, lightweight and gentle to the skin for comfortable wearing.
- *5 Duratect is CITIZEN’s proprietary surface hardening technology that enhances the surface hardness of metals such as stainless steel and titanium, protecting watch bodies from scratches and damage. This technology offers excellent abrasion quality and maintains the luster of metals for long periods of time. Duratect DLC achieves Vickers hardness of 1,000-1,400 by creating an amorphous carbon hard film—mainly composed of carbon and hydrogen—on the surface of the material. Vickers hardness of stainless steel is approx. 200 HV.
